Simon began modeling around age 7 but gave it up when he reached 16. Returning to the hobby in the 1990s, his first project was a 1/32 scale model of the aircraft his father flew in during WWII, the Bristol Beaufighter. Since then, he’s attempted to hone his skills in different scales and subject matters, with a predominant interest in WWII. He also enjoys unusual subjects, dioramas, scratch building, and includes model railroading as a side interest. Over the years Simon has written numerous feature articles for international modeling magazines.

Originally from Jersey, Channel Islands, Simon retired from local government as an architectural preservationist in 2020, and lives in Tucson with his wife, Kate.
